Are you interested in console exclusives? PS3. Do you know anyone with a PS3? PS3. If you answered no to both, then PC.

C2Q and 560ti are great options unless you need something from the PS3. The PC offers stronger performance (better graphics even with that setup), greater versatility, and will remain compatible for a longer time.

I’d like to enjoy some exclusive titles on consoles, though I already own many PC games. Two of my friends have PS3s, while most of my friends use PCs.

Do you purchase a setup? If you're in the US, you can locate fresh components for around $300 that deliver much better results than a Q6600 with 560 Ti. Performance comparable to a GTX 580 through 660 to 750 Ti — essentially the graphics card.

I'm on a tighter financial page, roughly $80.

What RAM do you have? Which motherboard? What cooling solution are you using? If all these fit overclocking requirements, consider going for the PC instead of the PS3 as suggested by Weak1ings—you might achieve better results for around $300. The parts I mentioned earlier could help, but his statements seem questionable. If your components support overclocking, performance will improve. Also, what type of monitor are you using?

For quick reference: here is an actual relevant comparison: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1337?vs=1130 I'll make that $300 build then.
