Okay, so Apex is taking up 80 - 90 of my CPU, and it's at 100 while I'm playing with uncapped FPS, averaging around 100 - 144 FPS in game. There is also this NVIDIA process running that takes up a fair amount of CPU and GPU, but even with it off, it's still at 100.
It's fine, but I think replacing the CPU would be the best solution because Apex is really stressing my i5 at all low levels. I also don’t have Chrome or any other programs running.
Check your available RAM and the number of stickers. Task Manager might show module counts, but it’s not always reliable.
Temperatures are manageable if you maintain proper airflow through intake and exhaust fans. You can tailor a custom fan curve for your GPU and CPU fans based on your motherboard. Keeping the system tidy helps too. I’m not sure what Apex needs, but your setup should work fine—just avoid expecting consistent 144 FPS.
It should always operate under 1440 as that’s the game limit, anything higher is wasted. I’m planning to purchase an i7 9700k for additional multitasking and video work. I have five fans, but my desk seems to restrict airflow since the back and top are blocked by it, though there’s a small opening for ventilation. There are also fans on the front, but a small case in front obstructs the view inside, with slight indentations on the sides that let air reach the fans—uncertain if that’s sufficient, but I’m not sure. For now, I’ll focus on getting a new CPU for personal reasons, not just for Apex.
