I own a GTX 1660 paired with an i5 9400f. I can play Apex Legends okay without anything running, but Discord gives me around 60 FPS max, sometimes hitting 100-144. My system gets really hot, reaching 75°C to 80°C. I’d love to hit 144 FPS and think about upgrading my parts so the monitor can refresh properly. I’m not ready to change my motherboard to Ryzen, but I’m considering it. At 13, I’m on a tight budget with birthday money and other expenses. Amazon Prime Day is coming up, and I’m hoping for some help soon. I also plan to get a better cooler for my i7 to avoid overheating from the stock one.

I mostly play games at the lowest difficulty to maximize FPS. My CPU often stays around 70-80, even when nothing else is running except Discord and my gear software. It seems the GPU might still be limited. Upgrading my CPU didn’t seem to help much, so I’m wondering if it really makes a difference or if I’m still stuck with GPU constraints.
I'll play a round of Apex and will report the frames where it caps and check the usage in Task Manager. I think it might be related to my CPU fan or the Antimalware Service Executable.
