Comparing 8GB and 12GB RAM for a Ryzen 3 3200U laptop APU
All PCs aren't limited to AMD. When memory is low, performance drops significantly. Using single-channel only reduces efficiency by about -10%. Memory capacity should always be greater than speed, then dual-channel.
It's actually more about capacity, dual channel, and memory speed. Dual channel at 2133MHz feels similar to a single channel at 2733 for me.
Absolutely, I found out the same thing on my laptop (Asus Vivobook 15 M509DA). It only has one RAM slot, the other is fixed into the motherboard. I plan to install an 8GB RAM at the same 2400MHz speed.
It's that one. Unless you're willing to go crazy and use a 16GB drive, then an 8GB one is the best option you can have.

Removing the back panel and altering the RAM might cancel the warranty.
