I just noticed I ordered the incorrect CPU. The 10700 (non-K) was listed at $334 on Amazon, but I didn’t realize it wasn’t K and thought the boost clock reached 4.8 across all cores. I compared it to the 10700K, which costs $100 more. I’m planning to overclock for a custom water loop build. Can I still overclock all cores on the 10700 up to 4.8 without issues? I saw some advice suggesting adjusting the voltage in BIOS to boost performance, but I’m not sure. Should I return the board and CPU or go ahead with a 3800X + X570 AMD chipset?
Consider bringing it back and getting the 10700k. If you prefer staying with Intel, overclocking a non-K processor isn't feasible.
It's tough to beat the 10700 completely. You could try boosting the turbo limits, but that's essentially it. It would just extend its boost time a bit. Voltage won't make much difference either. Overall performance is decent, and you won't gain much from overclocking, but if you're determined, the 10700k remains your best choice.

I just set the bclk to 102.5 and gave up, but that’s the easy choice. The 3800xt isn’t great because the all-core clock ends up much slower than the 3600xt, and the jump from 6/12 to 8/16 isn’t worth the extra 100usd unless you already have the fastest RAM and a 2080S. There are many options—keep the 10700, return for a 10600k, 10700k, or go for a 3600. The only thing I don’t suggest is chasing a 3700x/3800xt since the 10600k runs faster in games at the same price.
