I'm setting up a PC on a budget. First, can you share a reliable link for a safe, affordable Windows 8 key? Also, I want to know if Linux is a better choice for gaming compared to Windows—will it perform similarly, or is Windows more valuable? How straightforward is the setup and navigation process? Thanks!

For gaming, choose Windows installation with confidence. As a student, you may receive a legitimate discount on Windows keys directly from Microsoft.

Setting it up is incredibly simple for both. A monkey would be able to do it. Linux can run games just as well as Windows, provided you have the right graphics drivers installed. The main drawback is that only about 1200 games are available from Steam, and many high-end titles aren't supported. Lastly, you can find affordable Windows keys online.

Sadly, a few titles don't work well on Windows 10 right now.

Right. Especially since it is a new operating system. It should be changed in the future.

Gaming setup? Windows version. Programming rig? Code Monkey? Linux. All in one? Dual operating system? Yes, you can boot both. Install Ubuntu inside Windows for convenient uninstallation—just create a partition, download Wubi and an Ubuntu ISO, then read the instructions on their site or wiki.

Linux gaming relies on several elements including the games you choose, your equipment, the distribution you pick, and your goals. Although progress has been significant in recent years, the overall experience remains somewhat lacking. Many developers release games that aren’t well optimized, and AMD’s display drivers have historically been problematic, though they’ve seen substantial improvements. If performance is your main concern, Windows seems like the better choice. Still, I appreciate Linux’s community and its rapid development. Try setting up a dedicated partition for a Linux desktop to explore it—though it may require some effort, the rewards are great. A well-configured Linux setup offers a unique feel, and employers often value Linux expertise.
