You've been using Avast for a couple of years and it generally performs well. However, you've encountered some issues in the past, like the Maestro Error Screen for League of Legends. Initially, I thought it was a virus and removed the program, which deleted my saved items. Later, after reinstalling, the problem resolved itself. I've also heard that other antivirus programs can cause similar errors. MalwareBytes seems to be a strong alternative, according to reviews. It appears the situation has improved since then.

An honest statement: AVG is easier to understand. The real point: Antiviruses don’t help much against new infections anyway. They perform the same poorly when unknown threats are involved.

AVAST offers real-time defense, blocking threats before they act, while AVG attempts to halt infections once the process is underway.

I primarily use Avast. AVG has been declining lately. The interface also feels off to me. I disable the unnecessary Avast alerts in Settings-General-Gaming Mode, too.

They are ineffective; they might block a few viruses, but ultimately infection will occur.

Every device has its limitations, yet they all shield against most malware. It’s wise to stay informed and maintain cautious browsing practices.

On my mother's computer, I installed Windows three years ago. The antivirus hasn't been detected since then, and the system runs smoothly.

Previously, when I ran AVG it mistakenly flagged itself as a virus and removed it. That was definitely the most puzzling event I've experienced on my computer. It also identified several preinstalled applications as threats, even though I hadn't used the laptop for just a week.
