Need to update this thread since it appears early in search results. For users with Nvidia GPUs, in the Nvidia control panel, after selecting Change resolution, avoid choosing "Default" and ensure Output Dynamic Range is set to Full RGB. After installing the recent Windows 21H2 update, the default setting shifted to Limited, causing colors to appear faded or desaturated. I believe this reflects an issue specific to Nvidia rather than a Microsoft problem, and it persists even with the newest drivers.
