Colors faded following the Nvidia driver update.
A new driver arrived on 8/14/2017 and I immediately downloaded it. The installation proceeded smoothly, but once complete, both monitors displayed washed-out colors. Might this be related to downloading it at launch? I've checked other forums and adjusted the control panel settings, which helped somewhat, yet the colors remain significantly faded compared to their previous quality. My system has a PNY 970 with 4GB RAM. Both displays are 1920x1080 resolution. The main monitor runs at 144Hz with a 1ms refresh rate via DVI-D cable, while the secondary monitor operates at 60Hz with a 5ms delay using a VGA to mini HDMI connection. I've included eight screenshots of the control panel configuration. Please note that if you're viewing the images below, ensure you're referring to the correct monitor names as there are two with similar labels.
The problem is easy to fix. Use GeForce Experience to update drivers, but avoid doing that. Run DDU in safe mode, remove any leftover junk, and reinstall the drivers. This should solve your issues.
No changes were made to the panel's settings such as gamma or ICC profiles.
I didn't notice anything unusual. I only downloaded the drivers, and when the screen reset, everything appeared completely blank.
Absolutely, everything is set to the standard configuration. It's puzzling since I've reviewed many discussions and tried various solutions without success. Appreciate your assistance!
Windows 10 might have activated HDR. It’s unclear where to disable it, but it should appear in the display settings menu.
