It's a bit amusing when you hit the hardware snag. I also use a 970, and seeing the 980s, titans and 295x cards, the 970 feels less demanding, lol. An I5 quad core with 8gb RAM and a decent video card should handle it smoothly. With some adjustments, optimization improves over time. As they shift toward more modular designs and standardize releases, resources will become much lighter.

It's possible for someone as young as three years old to accomplish this.

The distinction lies in skill and execution.

I also own a 780 unit and it's functioning well. I consistently achieve at least 40-50 fps, though I sometimes drop to 20-30 in the hangar. I might tweak some settings to reduce detail and boost performance, but it’s fine for now. The main issue is loading times—when I have the funds, I’ll need a special SSD.

The issues with CryEngine relate to performance and stability, while updates may involve transitioning to newer technologies.

It's good news as the project is progressing smoothly on CryEngine. They're actively developing Star Citizen using CryEngine 4, with dedicated CE developers refining it and creating the latest build. The game is currently in an early stage, lacking extensive CPU and GPU optimizations, but improvements are underway. For instance, new damage systems will reduce texture RAM usage per ship while maintaining higher visual detail.

It's often criticized as unoptimized, but in its original form it performs better than many Ubisoft titles... Remember that even when Crysis 3 (using the same engine) hit its limits, it ran smoothly on mid-range systems if you lowered the settings slightly.
