Star Citizen is a massively multiplayer space simulation game. It requires significant graphical resources to run smoothly.

It would completely destroy a typical desktop in its present condition.

Because of the game's temperature? I don't get it.

Yes, especially on the map Dying Star. You'll fly so close, it will melt everything you own. /s It's an unoptimized, very demanding game running on (for now) Cryengine 3(.5), so figure that out

The game demands a high level of hardware performance, which under the right conditions could cause significant heat buildup in your graphics card. This intense requirement means the system needs to be powerful enough to handle the workload. If your setup meets those needs, it will deliver an exceptionally visual experience.

I operate on a 970 with no problems at all, except on the server side. A crash hasn't been my responsibility. Yes. If you have a fairly balanced core—meaning not an i3—then it should work fine.
