Whenever I need to restart my computer, I must remove the battery and then put it back following these steps: 1. Unplug power with supply off 2. Take out the battery 3. Put it back in 4. Reconnect power and turn it on I’ve installed a new battery into the motherboard (MSI Z77A - G43) running Intel i3 3570k with DDR3 RAM 8GB.

These are a low-cost CR2032 batteries; they seem to be completely discharged. It might be time to swap them out.

I didn't change many items believing they were the issue, but the same problems keep happening this morning.

I forgot about that section. Have you attempted to reset the CMOS? Which motherboard are you using?

Please verify your power connections on the motherboard, the 20 or 24-pin ATX port, and the 12V CPU power source—ensure it matches the correct pin configuration (4 or 8 pins).

If this doesn't resolve the issue, I'll consider switching to another power supply if possible.

I verified everything carefully to ensure the power supply was off, yet it performed well. It’s a fresh unit and is labeled Artic Blue—previous models worked fine, so I decided to keep using them. Recently, I switched to an 850W PSU for my dual GPUs.

I checked online and discovered several discussion boards where this board was affected. One thread had a battery problem resolved by switching to a different power supply for a few units before returning to the original setup. That approach didn’t seem like a positive solution.
