cisco AP setup
You're encountering an issue where the Cisco AP isn't responding on the router login page. After resetting it, you entered the IP address from routerlogin.net and tried to connect, but the site says it can't be reached. This could mean a few things—such as incorrect IP, DNS problems, or firewall settings. Check your IP configuration, ensure the router is online, and verify DNS settings. If needed, try accessing the login manually through another device or contact Cisco support for further assistance.
It determines whether the AP operates in lightweight or autonomous mode.
Autonomous operation doesn’t need a controller, but you’ll probably get asked on the console to set an IP address. I don’t recall if DHCP is supported. Lightweight mode needs a controller and an autonomous image for that access point to transform it. For clarity, checking the console directly into the AP would help.
Are you referring to the labeled port on the console? I connected my laptop to it, but the display didn't appear.
Use a console cable to connect, similar to this link: https://www.amazon.com/Console-Essential...ZEY1X06SGK
Connect the USB to your machine and the RJ45 to the console port. The AP is likely in lightweight mode, so you'll have to switch it: https://community.cisco.com/t5/wireless-...-p/3128135
You're asking if it's possible to operate without the 1 cable, treating it like a simple boat anchor.
