I like the text that's in bold. Those seem like some serious, although indirect, jabs in the "other" direction and I think that's funny. It's good that the issue now finally has some response, so it doesn't have to be talked about again. Best is to ignore everything this 'individual' says, to hope it will blow over soon.

I hadn't encountered Derek Smart before. It's puzzling that someone running their own studio would invest so much effort criticizing Chris Roberts' work. It feels more like an immature person acting out than a mature decision. Perhaps jealousy is involved. Chris Roberts now enjoys a prime position—hiring top talent, earning fair compensation, and operating without publisher interference.

He mostly says things that don’t make sense. It’s obvious to anyone that SC, even now, is far more than just the "vaporware" Derek tries to portray. Clearly, people can see that our funds are going into developing the game, not just to enrich others. Still, I’ll try to keep an open mind on one point. Sandi Gardiner has been bothering me from the start with her sneaky and pretentious demeanor. And if even a small part of the rumors (including clues from staff) that come with every major marketing move CIG makes turns out to be false, she probably doesn’t have the right experience or skills for her role. I don’t claim to know if the whispers about her and Chris’s personal life are true, but it’s definitely not something I want to worry about.

From my perspective, I don't believe Sandi is entirely responsible for every mistake. If you're focusing on her for every poor decision, you should also acknowledge her strengths. I find it unfair that AtV portrayed her as unfamiliar with the game, when many players already understood the basics and could have explored more advanced strategies. Regarding her role, Ben's situation seems similar—many beginners joined SC because they were friends or influenced by Chris's products. For Smart, it would be best to limit all discussions to this thread.

I don’t care about whether she can play the game or not. That’s not her responsibility. What I’m referring to are the fragmented comments shared in unrelated online discussions and private chats among CIG staff, suggesting that the key decisions aren’t driven by Sandi but rather by others. I won’t share any links or feed more speculation. In short, I personally don’t like the woman, yet I’ve heard some things, which is why I’m open to giving Derek a chance on this matter.

I believe it captures the essence well; he’s likely facing a lot of negative attention, but it’s significantly worse than before. I’ve noticed many people buying his game just to criticize him, yet at the end of the day, even a sale to someone who wants to trash him counts as another win. In the best scenario, he might even attract some critics along the way.
