You're planning to assemble your first PC and want to optimize your setup for high-end gaming. It seems many people focus on Far Cry 3, but if you're aiming for the best overall experience, consider testing both titles. Start with a solid mid-range graphics card and a decent CPU to ensure smooth performance across genres. Adjust settings based on your monitor's capabilities and personal preference.

This game is quite different from the previous one, offering improved visuals and some mountain features. I prefer the earlier version more.

I owned the original Far Cry from 2004/5. Now I’m playing Far Cry 3. Please share your CPU and GPU details. I’m using Ultra settings at 1920x1080 with no MSAA. You might need both, and Crysis 3 could be a better choice.

Far cry 4 feels a bit better in my eyes, especially compared to Far Cry 3. You can also find Far Cry 3 for a fraction of the price, so it's worth checking out since the differences aren't huge.

Very different from what I expected...? Maybe just three things.

Get Far Cry 3 offers a great experience at an affordable price, and after finishing, you can upgrade to version 4 when it becomes available at a lower cost.

The FC 3 narrative was significantly stronger; in FC4 I felt a strong sense of frustration from the start.

I’m planning to invest in a 4690k and possibly a 970k, or even take a risk down the line.
