I enjoyed both titles and noticed the side quests in Fallout 3 added more fun. Both are excellent, so don’t dwell too much on the choice.

Fallout 3 imo, NV is not bad and I like the content but there were times it felt like a drag to do something. I really liked the Warzone moments in 3 and the DLCs were fun, especially the one with the winter stuff and sneaking.

Wait for the steam sale and grab both lol? I think 3 has a much better story and was more immersive, though it had a shorter base story. New Vegas has an okay story that was longer and less immersive but offered more content. Especially with the great DLC. As for mods, I don’t know much. Just remember what others said—Fallout New Vegas crashes much less in 3 than in the other versions.

By the way. There's a Fallout sale on steam roght now. Go and Buy both or even the entire series. Man i love the first 2 Fallout's. If they would only remake them.

The initial two options are acceptable as they are. I'm open to an HD version though. Those (3 & NV) should be more affordable during the summer sale, though it's not certain and you'd only save a few dollars.

I enjoyed the atmosphere and mood of Fallout 3 more than New Vegas. Still, Vegas had its own strengths.
