I'm planning to upgrade my PC and need advice on choosing a CPU. The i5 9600K costs $214, while the Ryzen 5 3600 is $221. Some sources say the i5 is better, others claim the Ryzen is superior. I’ll be pairing it with an RX 570, so your help would be really appreciated!

The 9600K is nearly a decade old. Since then, Intel has introduced the 10600K along with other Comet Lake-S models. Between these releases, the 3600 performs slightly better.

Avoid Ryzen or Comet Lake A 3600; it’s usually inferior. It uses less power, but performance isn’t great. Boards tend to be more affordable than Z-series options.

If you haven’t got a motherboard yet and are open to spending around 220 dollars, I suggest the 10600k or 3700x for about 290 dollars. The 10400 offers a slight discount compared to the Ryzen 5 3600. Consider getting the i5 10400 if it fits your needs.

I wouldn't choose that one. It's very close to 3600, but it's locked and doesn't really add much value.

I secured my 3600 for $175, making it an even better deal compared to the $200 price. It's a great find—strongly suggest getting one. My stock temps were slightly higher than expected, so I went with a Wraith Spire 95W from the first Ryzen lineup; it functions flawlessly.
