A good budget motherboard for a Ryzen 5600X with at least 3200MHz DDR4 RAM would be the B550 AORUS PRO 2 or similar models from ASUS or MSI. These offer solid performance and value.

You're looking after what you need or want in terms of capabilities. For me, a "budget" refers to the amount of resources—like time, money, or effort—you allocate. It can be as low as $50 for a basic task and as high as $150–200 for more complex projects.

Keep costs low under £100. Focus on compatibility with your GTX 1080, Ryzen 5 5600X, 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM and more memory.

My choice would be the ASUS B450 TUF-Plus. For about $10 more, the MSI B550 Gaming Plus works too, though it's not essential.

Thanks for the suggestion, probably the B450-F gaming fits your budget well and looks like a solid option.

I’d pick TUF since it offers more value at the same cost, though it doesn’t have the same aesthetic appeal.

You might also find a higher-quality motherboard available in refurbished or used form at a comparable cost. My system is mainly built with refurbished components and still operates smoothly. A few items even came with an active warranty.
