You might gain extra performance in physics-heavy games, but the effect can vary depending on your setup and gameplay style.

The differences between these CPUs are minimal in gaming performance. Most games won't notice much since they usually use just a few cores. The main variations will appear in tasks that can handle many cores or threads simultaneously.

BeamNG requires one thread per vehicle, meaning additional threads allow handling more cars simultaneously. I adjusted my scenarios to spawn more vehicles with extra cores for this purpose.

Really, it would cost an extra 400 dollars just for a game about crashing cars, haha

No, we only require a maximum of 24 vehicles at once.

Considering a YouTube channel might take some effort, but it's worth evaluating your interest and time commitment.

Around 1-2 FPS variation is acceptable; the 3950X isn't worth the price and isn't readily available. I had a 3900X now and it's performing well, though a 3700X would be the top choice for gaming.

Sounds like the OP has a unconventional use case so conventional logic might not apply though I tend to agree that for general gaming, there is no reason to consider a 3950x over a 3900x.
