Consider using the 3700x to save money initially, then upgrade later if necessary. Alternatively, you could pick the 3950x right away. It seems I might not have been drawn to the 3900x before.

It would be great if Ryzen CPUs included a BIOS feature allowing users to say "Melt my PC." This would increase the maximum TDP from the standard 105W to a much higher value, enabling more cores to run without complex overclocking settings. Simply adjust the power limits, and cooling becomes the key factor to balance heat, voltage, and total power. The result would be higher clock speeds overall. The CPU already has this capability built-in, automatically reaching its peak within the original TDP limits. Raising it further would significantly improve clock scaling when properly cooled.

the 3900x and 3950x models deliver 150w right out of the box...typically most boards don’t limit it to 105w anyway.
