I'm setting up a new PC soon with a 7800x3D or 7800 XT/4070 depending on Black Friday deals. I also watched JayzTwoCents' video about his decision to switch back to Intel, which made me think. From what I learned, he faced stability and RAM problems. Since I'm not very skilled at troubleshooting, I'm hoping this build will be reliable. The video raised my concerns about the 7800x3D model. Should I be concerned? This is the plan I have: PCPartPicker parts list. CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 4.2 GHz 8-core (3179.00kr at Proshop). The concerns are mainly about AM5 specifically on Asus boards. Jay also had an Asus board, though he mentioned Asrock is very reliable.
I've owned my 7950X3D on an MSI board from day one. It's rock-solid and has never caused any problems. I think the ASUS models generally haven't performed well with AM5 lately.
