I'm setting up a new PC soon with a 7800x3D or 7800 XT/4070 depending on Black Friday deals. I also watched JayzTwoCents' video about his decision to switch back to Intel, which made me think. From what I learned, he faced stability and RAM problems. Since I'm not very skilled at troubleshooting, I'm hoping this build will be reliable. The video raised my concerns about the 7800x3D model. Should I be concerned? This is the plan I have: PCPartPicker parts list. CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 4.2 GHz 8-core (3179.00kr at Proshop). Cooler: Lian Li Galahad II Trinity SL-INF 61.3 CFM liquid (1300.00kr). Motherboard: MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI ATX AM5 (1350.00kr). RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 (969.00kr at Proshop). Storage: Kingston Fury Renegade 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVMe SSD (849.00kr). Graphics: Sapphire NITRO+ Radeon RX 7800 XT 16 GB (4600.00kr). Case: Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO ATX Mid Tower (899.00kr at Proshop). Power Supply: Corsair RM750e (2023) 750W, 80+ Gold certified, fully modular (650.00kr). Fans: Two Lian Li units with 63.6 CFM each (229.00kr each). Total cost comes to 14,483.00kr. All prices include shipping, taxes, and any available discounts. This was generated by PCPartPicker on 2023-11-19 10:31 CET+0100.

The concerns are mainly about AM5 specifically on Asus boards. Jay also had an Asus board, though he mentioned Asrock is very reliable.

I’m not certain about all the specifics, I’m focusing on assembling the PC rather than diving deep into the technical aspects. That’s why I’m reaching out here.

I chose the 7800X3D because I thought it would function well, and I found a solid discount on it. The combined savings on the AM5 motherboard and RAM versus Intel were significant.

I've owned my 7950X3D on an MSI board from day one. It's rock-solid and has never caused any problems. I think the ASUS models generally haven't performed well with AM5 lately.

I chose the MSI B650 Tomahawk after hearing similar experiences from others about problems with Asus.
