Within your CPU memory controller guidelines, I set Zen at 3600mhz. The gaming performance varies: CPU-bound titles show larger FPS gains, while non-CPU-bound games maintain steadier frames. Lower settings gave noticeably higher drops. If you aim for 1600, consider overclocking and boosting RAM to around 3200mhz—significant improvement is possible. EDIT - with my current setup on a 1700, I easily exceed 3600 in multi-core scenarios (obviously) and stay close to the original performance metrics.
