I received the motherboard and CPU, and everything is working well. I found a RAM stick that was dead, so I didn’t use dual-channel. I replaced it with one that had 8GB from another computer, bringing my total to about 12GB temporarily.

In the photo it seems the RAM sticks are placed side by side. Refer to the motherboard manual and verify they’re spaced correctly for dual-channel operation. You’ll need the recommended slots as shown in the manual.

The devices don’t work together because the sticks are mismatched—one is 8GB and the other is 4GB. Dual-channel isn’t supported, so I’ll be upgrading later.

Sure, it's fine—can't pay for it right now because of the thermona, but I'm getting ready to install a regular computer into an old, worn-out Power Edge chassis. I'm also tweaking the wiring that wasn't standard so I can stay productive and keep my head from spinning lol.

Sure, it's fine—can't pay for it right now because of the thermona, but I'm getting ready to install a regular computer into an old, worn-out Power Edge chassis. I'm also tweaking the wiring that wasn't standard so I can stay productive and keep my head from spinning lol.
