When I attempted to swap my CPU cooler, the chip stuck to it and I somehow removed it from the socket—though a few pins were bent. The issue is the small filled hole on the socket. Is this typical or a sign of damage? Should I replace it? Did one pin become lodged? Can I extract it safely? I’m feeling really confused. Please advise.

The component seems to have a pin missing—appears as if a piece came out and remains in the connector.

It might work to take it out using tweezers

You haven’t noticed any missing pins, but you still want certainty about whether a specific pin is lodged. Check carefully or use a magnifying glass to confirm its position.
