It's a fiber ONT similar to yours, just a different model with the same idea.
The firmware should be handled by your ISP—it’s not something you simply get from the internet. They’re in charge of it. I spent about 30 minutes looking and couldn’t find anything, so I wouldn’t rely on random files online. Official firmware from the manufacturer would be best, but their site also needs a support contract to download, which your ISP should manage.
This device isn't meant for general consumer use on any Fios connection. It's a requirement from your ISP because they're using the same model. You must request their firmware for this modem. If they suspect you have outdated or incorrect firmware, they might offer an updated version. They're unlikely to send the file directly, as you could then download it online yourself. This means they'll need to handle the installation for you instead of just providing instructions.
Really frustrating, I’m in school in another town and only visit home on weekends. Technicians aren’t available when needed. Could you help me find a way to get the firmware? Contact me if you know anything.
On my fibre modem (Huawei) there are two admin types: regular admin (user controlled) and superadmin. Superadmin have unique usernames and passwords and can manage everything from signal adjustments to firmware updates. My suggestion is to contact them directly to request technicians, as they recommended the device and should be familiar with it. Usually such issues aren't related to the modem itself. I had a similar situation a few months ago—signal drops every 10 hours. A technician was sent, and it turned out the problem was with their hub. After some adjustments, the issue resolved.
It's comforting to see others facing the same problem, even though I'm aware of the advanced admin features on HW routers. However, it seems there isn't an equivalent option with Fiberhome Routers, so I'll need to reach out again for assistance until the issue is resolved.
From an Iranian perspective, it’s unlikely we can assist with your hardware issues. These aren’t global regulations but typical ISP policies.
I’m only addressing this if they ask you to use a particular modem, which is a model not intended for direct sale to consumers. They must supply functional firmware for it. If not, they’re pushing you toward an unsupported option. The best alternative seems to be reaching out to the manufacturer directly via their contact page.
yeah, act like you don't know anything, don't say you can use the admin, you just want it to work. this might help you go up the urgent list. theres no such thing as 'fiberhome router", everything modem related usually made by the same usual company like siemens, motorola, huawei, zte etc. after all the effort to contact them failed, just go with another ISP.
