CPU model: i7-14700k
GPU: Not applicable
Motherboard: MSI PRO Z790-A
RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (1x16GB) DDR5 DRAM 5200MH
Power Supply: Antec G750 750W 80 Plus Gold
Case: Antec P10 Flux Mid-Tower Silent Gaming Cabinet
Cooler: Deepcool Gammaxx LE720 ARGB 360mm
Thermal Performance: CPU temps range 85-99°C at idle; minimal background activity detected
Monitoring: MSI center and Intel tools report 7-18% usage
Observation: Temperatures spike to 100°C during heavy tasks like music production or running multiple apps (e.g., Chrome tabs, Telegram)
Concern: This level of heat could damage the system faster than expected
Possible Cause: BIOS configuration might be affecting thermal management
I looked into the spread... using the paste and spreading method they provided. I completed the full remounting process hoping it would lower the temperature, but the results have remained consistent before and after. The pump fan runs at full speed most of the time due to the high heat. Edited May 20, 2025 by ChesterHunt
Using a heatspreader changes how you apply thermal paste, preventing bubbles and ensuring good contact. These components work together with the cooler to handle heat effectively. The pump and fans should spin freely without obstruction from glass or other barriers. The air cooler’s fan should be positioned correctly above the pump for optimal performance.
