It functioned last month when I performed it. As far as I understand, any key update after Vista will support anything from 7 to 10.

Pro is pricier than Home. I prefer the Media Creation Tool since it allows you to install all Windows 10 versions from a single USB drive.

It continues to function, at least I've heard from many individuals who have managed it without issues. That "limited free upgrade" phase seems less relevant now.
