Hello. So here is my freshly buildt rig : asus maximus x hero i9 9900k 32gig gskill tridentz evga gtx 1080ti ftw3 1 samsung 970pro m.2 1 samsung p70plus m.2 Corsair rm850i No ssd no hdd I cant install windows 7 for some reason i tried multiple versions ( wich worked for me before too on my maximus viii hero and i7 7700k ) Any help ??? All i get is a bluescreen after windows 7 has been installed so it kinda worked but didnt want to boot into it ? Hmm.. Any help is greatly appreciated !!

Uncle Billy has taken over your system. Windows 7 is quite outdated. WIn10 had some issues at first, but regular updates every six months along with open shell options have improved things. Transfer WIn10 to a USB drive using the media creation tool, install the necessary software, and you're good to go.

Uncle Billy has taken over your system. Windows 7 is quite outdated. WIn10 had some issues at first, but regular updates every six months along with open shell options have improved things. Transfer WIn10 to a USB drive using the media creation tool, install the necessary software, and you're good to go.

I understand how you handled installing Windows 8.1 on your Ryzen machine by moving the drive. It’s unclear if that method will apply to a 7 series device.

This method might trigger an immediate BSOD. However, on Windows 10 you can swap the motherboard CPU and RAM, which will boot up and get devices ready. Everyone says it works, but I haven't tried it myself.

Windows 7 will no longer receive any updates by the end of 2020. Unless you're okay with facing ongoing security issues that won't be resolved, it's best to avoid using it for a fresh installation.

You might choose to install Windows 7 because you experienced fewer issues compared to other previous versions, especially with Windows 10. It would be better than reverting to Windows 7 itself.

It doesn't seem to function properly since there are no drivers available. All CPUs after the Lake series pose challenges for W7 support.

You might be able to set the installer to run automatically without prompts, though that’s not something I’m particularly interested in. I’ve heard about its use as a benchmarking system where security isn’t a priority. The person sharing this is lucky because the Z370 supports Win7 USB drivers, whereas the Z390 doesn’t. If you chose that path, you’d need a PCIe USB card instead of a regular USB adapter. Yeah, I’ve experienced that too—I’m preparing for the Ryzen 3700X next and have dealt with similar issues.

It's worth noting that you can access open shell, which brings up your Windows 7 start menu and its free applications. I couldn't run Windows 10 without the Windows 7 start menu since their new interface is appealing yet unusual.
