Ran tests with 2133 on my i7. Performance dropped roughly 7%, which means around 5-6% less than when it was at 3200.
He’ll notice better results. I’m not convinced it’s worth swapping out the components. If he was starting from scratch, maybe use just a little extra coin, but spending over $100 feels unnecessary. Claims that Intel doesn’t gain from it haven’t held up for many years.

Adjust the clock manually to reach 2933. If the DRAM values are acceptable, you should notice improved performance. Consider Intel's IMC as solid. Set VCC/VCSA to 1.1, then experiment with DRAM at 1.35, 2666, and finally 2933.
