A 8600k with 2400 is acceptable, and it's unlikely you'll achieve significant speed improvements even with different kits.

Ran tests with 2133 on my i7. Performance dropped roughly 7%, which means around 5-6% less than when it was at 3200.

He’ll notice better results. I’m not convinced it’s worth swapping out the components. If he was starting from scratch, maybe use just a little extra coin, but spending over $100 feels unnecessary. Claims that Intel doesn’t gain from it haven’t held up for many years.

It was accurate until Kaby. Today's Intel CPUs gain similar advantages from rapid RAM as the Ryzen processors. That's what I verified. Source: I personally tried it.

It's hard to gauge exact values in arbitrary FPA units. The result can vary—sometimes 5, other times 25—based on the game.

Running at 2133 MHz is quite high for a standard Wi-Fi band. If XMP is disabled, it might affect performance. Replacing the RAM could be worth considering if stability issues arise.

Adjust the clock manually to reach 2933. If the DRAM values are acceptable, you should notice improved performance. Consider Intel's IMC as solid. Set VCC/VCSA to 1.1, then experiment with DRAM at 1.35, 2666, and finally 2933.
