Don't stress about the QVL list, it should generally function, though in the worst case you might need some adjustments to reach the advertised speed (provided the imc can handle it). Still, it should work fine most of the time. Just make sure you don't get stuck with a boot issue.

If it isn't posting, attempt one stick at a time. Inspect the CPU for bent pins, reset the CMOS, and reinsert it. Also, identify the PSU.
