I noticed Cyberpunk 2077 is now available on Mac today, but it costs about 899 SEK (around 90 USD) in the Mac App Store here in Sweden. I’m not a dedicated gamer—my recent titles are GTA: San Andreas (on iPad with PS4 controller) and Little Big Planet (PS3). That makes justifying spending that much on one game tough. I have some games on Steam, which is a bit cheaper but still not cheap. My questions: 1 – Is the Steam version the same as the Mac App Store release? 2 – Do you know if the random key from G2A works? 3 – What’s the most affordable legal way to get Cyberpunk 2077 on my Mac? I’d rather support indie developers by buying multiple games than spend all my money on one big company title.

We can't assist with grey keys—it violates the site’s terms of service.
3. The usual cost for a freshly launched Triple A title is around this amount. I’m not sure if there are other places to purchase Apple-exclusive apps besides the App Store or Steam.
1. The Steam page clearly indicates Mac compatibility.

With everyone around, it seems like a good spot to belong would exist! What gives you the impression otherwise?

The cost for the PC version is free since the MAC edition is already provided.

The cost on Steam is $59.99 for the standard version or $82.78 for the Ultimate edition. If I were you, I’d wait for the upcoming Steam discount and check if it drops in price. These are the specifications for macOS. As long as your Mac meets those criteria, you should be able to play via Steam. Purchasing on Steam also means it should work on Windows eventually, especially if you plan to use that OS later. As mentioned before, once you own it on Steam, you likely have it on Mac—provided you’re using an Apple Silicon model.

Also, there are significantly fewer files available for download, especially for voiceovers.

I understand you’re checking if the Steam and Mac App Store versions are identical. There are instances where the Mac App Store release differs slightly from the Mac App Store version, such as with certain games and software. My concern is whether there’s any notable distinction between the two. 2. And 3. That’s great to know.

Thank you for your input. You're right about the Steam deal covering both Mac and PC, even though I don't usually use a PC. I won't push my own system preference on my son—just in case he wants to play on PC, we should already have the license. Also, the suggestion to wait for the next Steam Sale is excellent; I'll add it to my wishlist and hope for a discount. Thanks!

I wouldn't bother with G2SCAM using a long pole. Plus, the latest version is 53% discounted on GoG.

The game prices differ significantly between platforms, with the Mac App Store charging 999 SEK (about 90 EUR) and Steam offering 15 EUR regularly. It seems the versions aren't identical despite the cost gap. Apple might be leveraging high prices to deter users from switching to Steam.
