Microsoft supports Linux without issues and hasn't encountered any problems like the one you mentioned. Their challenge lies in losing their testing team.

Well, new development this morning. It looks like the file table is getting borked, we were able to recover the user folder on the drive after a 3rd pass. However, we can not recover/rebuild the partition or file table. Freaking insane.

Maybe altering the kind of TPM activated some surprising situations, rather than simply removing or resetting it. Swapping the TPM type in the BIOS of this motherboard likely messed with the Windows boot manager, since it assumed a familiar TPM but actually connected to another one. This led to a crash, which isn't a clean exit—it caused damage to the drive partition layout.

Our current idea is supported by Tom as well. It seems the bios adjustments are happening due to the Windows update.

Just encountered another issue while talking to him about driver conflicts. Identified problems with the GPU and chipset driver. Installed some updates, rebooted, and it worked! This is completely crazy. He’s sending his PC for data recovery—what’s going on?!!?!? ROG Strix B550-I Board.

He quickly identified the issue with his file table after Windows updates, and he’s looking for a specific KB to help us understand what caused it.
