Can you help find a sound that keeps repeating on my computer?
Hi everyone, first time posting here and I'm really hoping someone could help me figure out what's wrong. Basically, I have Windows 11 Pro and I keep having strange stutters with regular stuff like browsers, apps, and the whole computer acting up. It feels like my entire system blips for a couple of seconds or times that over ten to twenty seconds sometimes. Sometimes the mouse just goes completely dead for one or two seconds at a time too (or it's stuttering). This is driving me crazy; I can't even open browsers or use Excel without random glitches coming up every few minutes. Note - I play some games and everything works fine while gaming. I did a full reinstall of Windows back a few weeks ago and that didn't fix the problem. I tried removing all my AMD drivers and putting them back on, and also made sure the GPU was fully updated. Can you please tell me what else I can do? I have a pretty okay computer so I'm starting to lose it mentally because of these issues. I got this PC from a Facebook purchase a few months ago; here are the specs: Win11 Pro B450 AORUS ELITE AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core Corsair Vengeance 32GB RAM, and an AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT with 16GB Happy to run tests if you can tell me the right tools I should use. You probably shouldn't have done that Windows reinstall because it messes up the drive health. The computer might be running slow because your CPU is too hot or not getting enough air. Is there a fan sticking out of the case to cool things down? Did you put in an SSD for your main drive? I didn't list those details. Use Crystaldiskinfo to check if your hard drives are okay. Try CrystalDiskMark to see how fast your storage is going. That tool helps with checking disk performance and speed on Windows XP through version 2025 for x86, x64, or ARM systems. Core Temp lets you watch the temperature of your processor as well as other important info right in your OS. Make sure it stays at a normal level while you do work or browse the web without slowing down too much.
Thanks! The hard drive is a Western Digital 240GB M.2 SSD that uses SATA and has a fan on top of it. The CPU inside the computer is NFA12x25 PWM Chromax, and the case sits over carpet with fans for cooling (two at the top, one in the back, three at the front). I took this picture while the core temperature was high under load from YouTube videos, other tabs, and apps. Currently, CrystalDiskMark is being run to check things out.
That's just a 120mm fan. What cpu cooler are you using? Does Noctua make pc cases? Didn't think so. RM850 is Corsair PSU (not a pc case). Can you show a photo of your system with side panel removed?
