Can someone tell me about Nvidia drivers
Focusing on shadowplay, I'm using an AMD GPU with working drivers, though they aren't ideal. AMD relies on Raptr for GVR and Nvidia uses shadowplay. I'm checking current performance, crashes, detection issues, and game stability—especially when not recording. If shadowplay offers smoother operation without performance loss or crashes, I’d consider switching to a Nvidia card soon. Also, share any observations you have about AMD versus Nvidia drivers.
Nvidia drivers perform well most of the time. When problems arise, it’s usually just a matter of removing and reinstalling the previous version. Shadowplay and GFX have consistently functioned for me. Recording and streaming quality remains excellent. Updates are quick—just a few minutes—and they don’t need restarts. The only drawback is that old files can consume significant space if they build up, though deleting them is straightforward via the provided guide: http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comment...e_geforce/
Shadowplay functions properly, the output quality remains strong and there are no noticeable performance issues.
The main problem I've encountered with GeForce Experience since its release is the driver installation process through it, which often causes stalls and crashes, forcing me to perform a hard reboot. Apart from that, everything functions smoothly. On my 280x system, using CCC can be quite challenging. It might just be that I'm accustomed to how Nvidia Control Panel operates.
I won't dive into a heated discussion here. My perspective on AMD/raptor comes from personal experience, as I've used cards ten years old or older. AMD's streaming service may slightly affect your PC's performance, while NVIDIA's Shawnplay runs smoothly alongside minimal impact. Regarding drivers, the only thing I can share is that NVIDIA usually releases day 0 updates for major software launches to fix game-related issues.
Raptr + Nvidia GeForce Experience are both awful programs. But as for AMD's DVR vs Nvidia's Shadowplay, DVR is slightly better imo. Also, the new AMD cards coming out are meant to have hardware H.265 decoding, which is meant to give 4x the encoding speed of H.264 or something. Can't quite recall the exact info on that, and we're yet to see, as the cards are not out yet. But if it's true, they're gonna be awesome for streamers.
No issues reported. Game runs smoothly without delays compared to OBS. No crashes or detection problems observed.
I really enjoy Shadowplay, it doesn’t affect performance at all (even keeping up 1 FPS). I use the shadow feature so that after winning a match in CSGO—like taking down the whole enemy team—I just hit ALT + F10 to save the last three minutes. This way I can capture what happened without recording everything. In GTA, if I do a big jump with my car and want to save it, I quickly press ALT + F10 and it saves in 1080p too! I’m not familiar with Raptr, but I’m sure it has a similar option. It also shows an FPS counter, which I find useful. You can adjust the recording time and quality settings, and see how much space it takes on your drive. TL;DR: It’s perfect for me—it makes gaming so much easier!
