Can I fix up by clicking on recover?
i recently changed my motherboard. before that, one strange thing happened: my SSD (the main drive) wouldn't show up in the boot menu for some reason. today, i made a recovery disk, wiped out my SSD with fresh Windows, and fixed the issue. however, when i tried to use "recover from a drive" under troubleshooting options, it didn't appear. i checked that the USB was connected and plugged into different ports. i even restarted a few times, but nothing works! windows installs fine, but this recovery option stays hidden. anyone can help me?
How did you create "Recovery drive"? If you just copy fresh Windows on your hard drive, all the data gets wiped so there is nothing to recover. The only way to get back your stuff is to make a full disk backup using something like Macrium Reflect or another program before you reinstall Windows and then go ahead. Once that's done, you can still access your files.
Doesn't sound right. Did you actually replace the motherboard? Usually, changing a part means wiping and reinstalling Windows. You mentioned fixing that, but what about this recovery drive? Which program made it? And exactly what were you trying to get back from it?
there’s a software in windows in the recovery application next to the “create a restore point” option. when you select this option it packs up all your files on a USB driveand compressed them, and then a software is installed onto it so that it can be used to automatically recover your pc. when you go to the troubleshooting tab after hitting shift+restart, and go to troubleshooting, there will be an option that says “recover from drive”. it’s not there. is that a little more clear?
It is like making a system picture for a machine, but this one needs the specific hardware to work properly. If you swap out your motherboard, that digital file won't fit or run on a new device. Trying to restore it there isn't going to help anyway because the computer isn't the same anymore.
:\sources\reconstruct.wim /index:1 /MountDir:C:\MOUNT /Optimize /Checkintegrity. This means mount all the files from your source drive into a new folder named C:\MOUNT. After that, go to that new folder and copy what you want around. Next, stop using that special box by typing this code: Dism.exe /UnMount-Image /MountDir:C:\MOUNT /Discard. You might see many boxes like the first one; just do the same steps for each of them.
Your hard drive holds data in special Windows boxes called WIM. To get those files back, you can use a tool named "dism". First, make sure there is a folder ready on your computer where you want to save everything. Then, open the command line and type this code: Dism /Mount-Image /ImageFile
