it's a concern to flash the BIOS initially, but now you're planning to use a gigabyte BIOS on any off-brand card? perhaps it's wiser to learn how to modify the BIOS you have with a NVidia bios editor and enhance if possible the factory-flashed BIOS that's already on your card.
visit the site and enter gtx 970, but nothing appears.

it's hard to say what you actually have – maybe some unusual OEM BIOS designed for prebuilt systems like Dell, Acer or HP?
i don't see this BIOS listed for any consumer GTX 970. [84.04.36.00.5D]

I received my GTX 970 for a prebuilt MEDION computer, and this is the manufacturer's information.

The listed models from Google searches for computers equipped with a GTX 970 often show the message "product not found." It seems the BIOS might have changed, possibly making the proprietary motherboard BIOS unsupported on the card. This could affect compatibility and functionality. It's unclear whether it's better to keep the current setup or replace it entirely. Good luck!

Thanks a lot for your assistance, but I'm not doing anything since I don't want to end up with a dead 970.

I think that's your best policy only way your going to truly get past that gtx 970 3.5 memory thing is go with a true NVidia card [non gtx 970] outher then that I don't see why its not doing you a good job ?
its really not broken so no point trying to fix it and end up wishing you had not ...
may see if you can collect that 30 bucks from NVidia

But I don't live in the USA, I got this card only for $100 I think it's good.
Just wanted to check if I could upgrade it to boost performance, but it's not an option, so I won't take any action.
Best regards.

Well, many players modify their BIOS just to back up the original settings on the card. It’s often necessary to revert changes if needed. I personally don’t do it; my cards work fine without it, but others might not be so sure. Checking resources and deciding what feels right for you is important. No recommendations—this is entirely your choice.

I created a backup of my original BIOS, and when I installed another one (https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/1831...096-160125), the card functioned properly.
However, I still encounter issues with Vegas. When trying to check the GPU in Sony AVC renderer, the program displays "GPU is not available." I've tried various solutions, including reverting the BIOS to the original version, but it doesn't resolve the Vegas problem.
With this BIOS, my 970 works perfectly. What suggestions do you have?

The Vegas GPU accelerated rendering isn't compatible with the latest cards. It should be used on older models such as the GTX 550 IIRC, and you must switch it to a CPU setting.

While I don’t think you’re limited to using NVIDIA video cards, the results won’t match what you’d get with an AMD card.
MainConcept has fixed the list of video cards directly into its code. It’s unclear why they would include such a list in the MainConcept AVC encoder, especially since doing so prevents newer cards like NVIDIA GT/GTX600, GT/GTX700, GT/GTX900, and AMD HD 7000, R7 and R9 series from benefiting from GPU acceleration.
