Games with a straightforward storyline can be enjoyable, offering variety from first-person to third-person perspectives. For some, RPGs feel sluggish and lose interest quickly, even when the narrative draws you in. I personally dislike titles like Fallout because they drag on too long and become monotonous. Trying Fallout felt exhausting after an hour of New Vegas, and I ended up avoiding the whole series afterward. On the other hand, games blending linear and RPG elements—such as The Witcher 3 or Deus Ex: Mankind Divided—provide more engaging experiences. Titanfall2’s single-player campaign also impressed me. Personal taste plays a big role; I appreciate story-driven titles like Call of Duty when the themes resonate, but I find games lacking immersion frustrating, especially when minor changes break the flow. My main point isn’t about linear shooters in general, but about the quality of Quick Time Events in AAA titles, which often fall short of expectations.

The narrative unfolds without needing to locate objects; it emerges when you show curiosity. By paying close attention, everything becomes clear, and as your interest grows, you start searching for details that reinforce what you already understood. In moments of fear, you stumble upon a kindergarten playroom, later noticing a one-way mirror behind a row of chairs with a large camera focused on the space. You’re aware of the situation, but revisiting the scenario reveals an audio log discussing the teacher as a doctor, among other things. Even a single playthrough highlighted how the setting and presentation felt overly elaborate. For System Shock, I struggle with games where you’re a weak player who can’t handle combat, so even after several weeks, I’m barely managing to survive.

It's highly unlikely they transported them that far to the Western front.

Creative adjustments were made during game design, similar to how Battlefield 1 altered its weapon setups. Taking into account the German initiative to convert PPSh-41s to 9mm, it wouldn't be unexpected to see these rifles used by German forces on the Western Front, especially after veterans from the Eastern Front brought them back. The Germans had a strong appreciation for Russian arms throughout the conflict.
