Cache stored in Steam for the entire internet.
I possess ample local storage capacity. I need assistance configuring a Steam cache that stores the entire internet, not just Steam content. It should prioritize frequently accessed data while caching the broader web. You're open to any platform—Linux, Windows, or even a custom operating system. Help would be greatly appreciated. The goal is to enhance performance for commonly used resources.
I prefer a Squid transparent proxy setup. It’s the simplest to configure when using PFSense as your router, though it works well in bridge mode too.
We're considering a number of clients. Playing with Squid won't be very effective with this setup, especially using HTTPS and dynamic sites.
I have a reasonable 30mbps connection, but it drops significantly when multiple people use it together. Could using a cache for Google Drive files help improve performance?
