I possess ample local storage capacity. I need assistance configuring a Steam cache that stores the entire internet, not just Steam content. It should prioritize frequently accessed data while caching the broader web. You're open to any platform—Linux, Windows, or even a custom operating system. Help would be greatly appreciated. The goal is to enhance performance for commonly used resources.

Are you using multiple types of devices? Your browser already stores data from often visited sites, but caching isn’t very effective these days since much of the content changes or comes from services that require live updates.

I prefer a Squid transparent proxy setup. It’s the simplest to configure when using PFSense as your router, though it works well in bridge mode too.

I aimed to replicate Steam Cache's DNS setup so you could easily modify your router's DNS settings.

The internet is evolving rapidly, which can cause many websites to malfunction. Your current browser likely has cached data, so you may need to bypass encryption and install your own certificates.

Steam Cache didn’t have the ability to automatically recognize site changes like Steam Cache does for game updates.

Absolutely, but games remain relatively stable, similar to many other sites that undergo frequent updates, such as observing the extent of changes during a page refresh.

Consider a size limit to avoid storing frequently updated or tiny items.

We're considering a number of clients. Playing with Squid won't be very effective with this setup, especially using HTTPS and dynamic sites.

I have a reasonable 30mbps connection, but it drops significantly when multiple people use it together. Could using a cache for Google Drive files help improve performance?
