Decision has been made. I’m increasing my budget and purchasing the Corsair H110i. The reasons behind this change are:
-I won’t receive a new CPU or more RAM for at least another three years (planning to upgrade to a GTX 1070 or similar soon, so I want to maximize performance from this unit) – I’m willing to sacrifice the CPU if it helps lower the temperature.
-The recent overheating issues make me think that a cheaper air cooler like the 212EVO won’t provide much noticeable improvement.
-I’d prefer a dual tower air cooler such as the Noctua NH-D15, but my RAM limit means I can’t justify buying both new RAM and a cooler, especially since it would be more expensive than an AIO.
-I’m choosing the Corsair H110i because it’s affordable at 120€. I’d rather go with the Kraken X62, though it costs around 180€ in my area, which doesn’t make sense to spend only 60€ more for a temperature difference of two degrees.

NH-D15S supports up to 65mm tall high-profile RAM, matching the same performance as NH-D15. When using a 120mm fan with the 140mm stock fan in push mode, everything works perfectly.

This model is highly compatible. Between NH-D15 and any similar dual tower, I strongly suggest choosing the NH-D15S. It’s very compact yet delivers outstanding performance.

BigBoomBoom :
NH-D15S supports up to 65mm tall high-profile RAM, matching the performance of NH-D15. When using a 120mm fan in push mode, pair it with the 140mm stock fan in pull mode.

I own one and it performs exceptionally well in terms of compatibility. Between choosing NH-D15 (or any similar dual tower) and NH-D15S, I’d pick the latter. It’s very compact yet delivers outstanding results.
This,
Check the compatibility details for this cooler:
http://noctua.at/en/nh-d15s/comp
It pairs perfectly with a single fan and stays within your original budget.

Thank you, you just saved me 50€. I didn't realize I missed this opportunity; I should have been more careful. It looks like a great solution. I plan to order cooler now and add an extra fan later when there are clearances. Maybe I could install another 140mm fan on the back so it can pull effectively.

Gasper_2 suggests considering additional fans for better performance and mentions checking case clearance before purchasing.

I've verified the details already. The Bitfenix Shinobi has a 170mm clearance, and its own height is 160mm, so it should fit perfectly. I'm not sure if an extra fan will be necessary, as the temperature drop is only around 2 degrees at full load.

I just received my noctua NH-D15S today and I must say I'm amazed. I don't have time or the motivation to overclock it yet; I didn't really perform a proper stress test lasting several hours. When running at prime 95, temperatures were in the mid-50s during about 15 minutes (with the stock cooler I'd already reach 100 degrees). I also tried visual renderings. With the stock cooler I easily hit 85 degrees, but with this one it barely reached 50 degrees. Thank you again—I'm really happy with the cooler you suggested and ended up purchasing it.

Yep, the cooler is a solid choice. It allows for very high overclocking, matching the Corsair H100i in performance while being significantly quieter. I use two fans but connect them to separate motherboard headers; one is a Noctua Industrial with 2000rpm, so I keep it running at full speed even when temperatures rise above the included 140mm fan for better silence. Your case supports up to 170mm, so adding a second 120mm fan would work if you need to maintain DIMM slot height compatibility. It’s not essential, but it helps achieve the performance gap between the S and non-S versions.
