The I5-12400 features 12 processing threads and a passmark rating of 19538. Its single-thread score is 3531, which is decent.
The I5-13400 offers 16 threads with a rating of 26206 and a single-thread score of 3836.
Games primarily rely on single-thread performance.
You get what you pay for—there’s a range in price versus performance.
By the way:
I5-13500 has a rating of 32474/3957, and I5-13600K has 38442/4187.

45 euros difference for 4 cores isn't worth it. Consider upgrading to a better board or adding more RAM.
