I don’t understand how, but I recently dealt with stuttering and noticed DSR was at 2x. I didn’t enable it!

Is the stuttering limited to this game or does it happen in other titles too? Does it affect Windows applications as well? Does the audio also experience stuttering?

Sound performs consistently without issues. It tends to be more noticeable in gear 5, but I've seen similar problems in other titles such as CS GO and Witcher 3. This is still early testing for this setup, so I haven't tried many games yet. Occasionally, when launching specific applications, my mouse seems to freeze briefly, especially with Dragon Center.

The storage devices you're using are not specified in the system details. It seems the drive might be reading slowly, possibly due to high usage; checking its utilization during gameplay could help. If capacity is reached, it may switch to virtual memory on the drive, affecting performance similarly to what you see in your video.

You're using a WD Black NVMe 500G drive with an NVMe 970 Evo Plus 250Gb SSD for gaming. Your OS runs on a faster NVMe 970 Evo Plus 250Gb, and you've tried various games without issues—Resident Evil 2, GTA5, and Doom ran smoothly. However, some titles still stutter, even when lowering graphics or reinstalling. It might be worth optimizing the drive settings or checking for firmware updates to improve performance.

I found a way to stop the choppiness, though it’s still puzzling. Adjusting the settings in Gears 5 didn’t help much, so I tried raising the resolution scale to 200%. The game ran smoothly afterward—no stuttering and consistent performance. Even at ultra settings, it stayed steady around 60 fps or higher. That’s strange, since increasing the scale usually slows things down. Why would it make everything smoother?

Download the process using Lasso. Then assign CPU affinity to run only the first four cores—click right-click on the process to see this option. Or, you can turn off SMT in your motherboard BIOS. Check if any stuttering persists after trying both approaches.

I've downloaded process lasso and attempted to adjust thread settings based on SMT status. Changing threads when SMT is on and back when it's off didn't make a difference. The CPU Affinity under Always doesn't apply anything. The graph remains unchanged whether I disable the first or last half. I've watched some video guides but haven't succeeded. I appreciate the program, though. It seems my chances are limited to a RAM problem now. After several attempts with timing calculations and settings tweaks—including voltage changes and a full system reinstall—I'm still experiencing stuttering. I've reinstalled drivers and even tried different plans, but nothing helps. My current RAM is 16GB x2 with CMT32GX4M2C3200C16. I'm using an x570 MSI MPG Gaming Edge WIFI with the 3800x chipset. The product says it's Intel XMP certified, which I didn't realize was important until now. I thought I checked compatibility on the manufacturer's site, but there seems to be a mismatch—showing Hynix instead of MSI. Could this be the issue? If you can confirm, that would really help. I've attached my current configuration settings for reference.

It could be a RAM problem, but turning on 4K resolution might explain the issue. When using 4K, most processing shifts to the GPU, which could cause stuttering if one CCD0 chiplet is overloaded while the other CCD1 chiplet handles the rest. This theory is just a guess—try disabling the cores on your motherboard to see if the problem persists. It usually takes only a few minutes to test. If it still happens, you can focus on fixing affinity later.

Turned off the cores in BIOS. Only four active cores verified with Ryzen Master. Studder continues. Will install another X570 motherboard soon to check for hardware compatibility issues. Will share updates once everything is set up.
