So I believe my current configuration still works well, but the frame rates are quite poor in Borderlands 3....
Current setup:
- i7 6700K
- Asus Z170 pro gaming
- MSI GTX1080 seahawk
- Corsair 32GB RAM
- all Samsung SSD storage
- all custom loop watercooled
I’m using an Acer X34a as my main monitor (344x1440).
But after launching Borderlands 3, I’ve realized I can’t push it to its full potential... not even close.
I’ve had to lower the settings further and further, now running the game at LOW resolution of 3440x1440, with only around 70fps, and sometimes it drops significantly.
Should I be responsible for this issue, or could there be a problem with the game itself? Is it possible that the games are no longer compatible with such high-end hardware?

It's possible to point the finger at the keylogger embedded in the anti-piracy system.
However, the real issue lies in the fact that their anti-piracy system is a resource hog, causing performance problems.
You might also want to monitor temperatures and look for unusual background applications consuming excessive resources.

The games operate within a virtual environment and need more than six cores to function smoothly. It's believed that it can utilize nearly all available cores for real-time code encryption and decryption.

Temperatures were definitely verified and everything looks fine, with no unusual background activities detected.

Talking words from aliens to me here bud haha.
It would be really bad if it messed up my ability to play on medium and made it too slow, over 60fps... I didn’t expect my old CPU to turn out so useless so fast.

Attribue la faute au jeu, sans équivoque. As-tu eu l'occasion de désactiver Fidelity XF par hasard ? Certains affirment qu'il perturbe l'expérience d'un écran ultra-large dans BL3.
C'est le jeu. Simple et direct.

The game accurately mimics a specialized CPU/OS solely for executing the game's code.

uncertain if I switched it off, I just checked the presets for Low, Medium, High, etc., and when playing, anything above Low came out below 60, which isn't acceptable. #firstworldproblems i understand but it's still an issue.

It's clear you can't reach maximum settings at 3440x1440p because it's extremely taxing on your GPU. With only a standard GTX 1080, achieving even 50 frames per second would be very challenging. If you're planning to play this game, you'll need to adjust the settings rather than pushing them to the limit. This video can guide you through the process.
