Blue screen of death in RAM issue
Blue screen of death in RAM issue
I upgraded my system with 16GB Corsair LPX Vengeance RAM at 3200MHz. I followed the DOCP guidelines using the recommended speed and voltage, and it functioned properly for a short period. Later, while playing music on Tidal, I encountered a blue screen with an error saying "IRQL_not_less_or_equal." Running Windows RAM diagnostics didn’t reveal any issues, but Memtest86 wouldn’t start. I unplugged the boot SSD and asked for a valid device, tried three USB drives of different sizes, and even used Rufus, which failed to recognize my drives. It only crashed once. What’s happening? Should I replace the RAM or is everything okay? My setup includes an AMD R7 2700 at 4.05GHz, 1.38V, an XFX RX 5700, an Asus Prime B450 plus a 500GB SSD, and a Sharkoon WPM600 Bronze PSU.
It's located in sections 2 and 4. I'll attempt it again. However, I can't confirm the fix. Time will be the judge.
Did you change the BIOS prior to adding the new RAM? Occasionally, certain internal settings remain from previous training sessions and might be linked to your older storage.
The question asks about the type of error, but no specific error details were provided. Could you clarify what issue you're encountering?
