Blue screen of death in RAM issue
I haven't reinitialized the BIOS. I'm going to observe if it works again after slightly increasing the voltage, then I'll attempt it again.
Thanks for the advice. I’ll share an update tomorrow if it fails again.
Wait, what did you mean? Did you get 16 gigabytes from two 8-gigabit or four 4-gigabit connections? If it's four 4-gigabit, then one of your slots or dimms might be faulty. Try running the PC with just one dimmed at a time to check stability—this can help confirm if the RAM is the issue. Do you have the dimms installed properly in the correct slots?
If you're not overclocking the RAM, the system should run smoothly at its original voltage. If you need to increase the DRAM voltage without overclocking, the hardware might be defective. It could also be due to the IMC not accepting the new timings or speed settings—this is where adjusting the voltage on your storage controller makes sense. You might also have residual BIOS settings from a previous model affecting performance. Running Memtest often requires allocating full memory and checking coverage at high usage levels (around 300-400%) to identify bottlenecks.
I tested each stick individually, both functioned properly. I ran a CPU stress test to apply moderate load, and everything ran smoothly with no errors. The next step would be a BIOS reset. I’m unsure whether I’ll need to reapply overclocking or adjust fan curves unless it happens again. Thanks for your patience.
BIOS has been restarted. Do you have any method to check for remaining errors? I’ll use Prime95, by the way. Also, could you confirm the voltage of your 2700X?
