The way the game is played doesn't match any realistic depiction of World War One battles, so it won't function properly.

This means we could move from a imagined future conflict into related areas, so anything could happen.

It would be interesting to explore its direction, but I think it wouldn’t be very engaging if it needs to stay true to WW1 history. It might lean into some realistic elements, which would be great if it feels authentic—super satisfying! Most first-person experiences don’t create that same tense atmosphere as RO did, especially when dealing with cover and the fear of mortars damaging your position.

No interest when it takes place during WWI. Not interested in weapons or trenches; avoids any military or war-themed environments.

This situation will definitely not resemble a World War I scenario.

I don't think the evaluation should rely only on the environment without additional context. The key lies in how it's executed and which aspects of the conflict they emphasize. Yes, WWI is remembered most for trench warfare and attrition strategies that don't fit this genre well, yet it was also the era when tanks and aircraft were introduced as military tools. The front lines only solidified into trenches after the initial invasion halted in France, and progress began to advance later. I find it highly improbable the game would merely present endless static trench scenes every round, beyond what most expect. More importantly than the surface setting, I'm curious about the development direction—whether it comes from DICE Stockholm or DICE L.A. It seems more likely the former, though a breakthrough from the latter would be exciting news.

2010 (Black Ops): "Why not abandon the current modern Middle Eastern shooters and try something more advanced?" 2012-2015 (Blacks Ops 2, Advanced Warfare, Black Ops 3): "This futuristic take is way too far! We should revert to World War II shooters." 2016 (Battlefield 5): "Ugh, you've ruined the Battlefield series! I'm about to have to think strategically and dig deep into my mind to come up with battle plans? That's ridiculous!" In reality, Battlefield 5 is a strong contender in the FPS world unless EA's usual shortcomings overshadow it.

Take a moment to sit and relax for ten minutes. Wait until the smell disappears before continuing.

This move lets you switch into Kaiser Wilhelm II and perform any random trick shots.

Power boosts... I really wish Dice doesn't ruin this Battlefront mess again.
