My laptop clearly struggles with running games at high or maximum graphics settings. I limited the frame rate to 30 using NVIDIA Inspector, adjusted the graphics options, and it performed reasonably well—possibly up to 40 FPS. However, the inconsistency in frame timing was bothersome; one frame displayed at 1 Hz while another showed at 2 Hz. With my Xbox controller, performance improved significantly due to the mouse's lack of sensitivity. I wouldn't risk playing FPS games at 30 FPS, but I appreciate the ability to push graphics to their limits. Games should ideally offer a 60 FPS option. If you can manage it, give it a try—especially if you're aiming for higher frame rates.
Quite the technology, eh? It's a littlebit more complicated than that. Without triple buffering, yes, it either sets it to 60, 30, 20, 15, 12, 10, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, or 1. If you have a 60 Hz monitor, of course. With triple buffering, it can be any number, without tearing, but with input lag. I am always playing with V-Sync on, the tearing drives me nuts, and it's not just 30 FPS.
Using VSync causes dizziness. The input delay feels extremely high.
I feel like I'm not on par, but I barely notice—it's just the way the menu items shift. It's something nice.
