Suggesting a strong processor for optimal performance. The game runs smoothly at the lowest settings on a budget device, around 40 frames per second.

You're seeing great performance with your setup at 1440p using the 970 SLI configuration on a relatively new i7-960 processor. It's working smoothly while you wait for the motherboard to be fixed.

In fact, the requirement mentioned is likely a 6600K or FX-6350, which already shows a significant mismatch. The main point here is that strict system specs don’t always matter much. In reality, an i5 from the previous generation or three should work fine, maybe even better depending on your expectations for performance. If the FX-6350 is considered a bare minimum, an i5-6600K would probably be more than enough. Also, you’re unlikely to be completely blocked from playing a game just because your PC falls short of the minimum requirements—most systems can handle it as long as they meet the necessary tech standards. It’s not unexpected that it runs on a 6400, though I don’t know how smoothly.
